ABOUT ELEANOR
You might be visiting this site because you're curious about yourself, about self-discovery, personal development, or parts of yourself you haven't yet had the chance to know.
Perhaps you want to make more room for your creativity or bring a greater sense of intention to your life. Perhaps something has been stirring in you, asking to be explored. Or perhaps life has recently felt too heavy to manage on your own.
It could be that a core relationship has shifted, or perhaps ghosts from your past have resurfaced. You may feel exhausted from constantly maintaining a face, or perhaps you simply feel disconnected from the person you once were.
Entering therapy is a unique and significant transition. It requires you to step into a supportive space and share parts of your story that are usually kept in confidence. I hold that trust with deep respect.
I am Eleanor Roche, a psychotherapist of South Indian heritage and an artist living in Melbourne. I view the therapeutic process as an invitation for curiosity as much as a response to hardship. Together, we can explore the recurring cycles in your life, the connections that define you, the hidden aspects of your identity, and the ways your body holds onto experiences that your mind is trying to move past.
My practice is trauma-informed, relational, and deeply integrative. I utilize EMDR, attachment theories, parts-work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and various creative, and yogic methods. I don't subscribe to a one-size-fits-all model; the therapeutic journey evolves based on the unique individual sitting with me.
My history of working with children and families has shown me that our personal narratives are often interwoven with others. We inherit rituals of connection, methods of self-protection, and definitions of what it means to belong. Some these serve as vital strengths, while others may eventually need to be transformed.
Outside of my clinical work, I am an active artist.
I create temporary works utilizing soil, water, botanicals, the physical form, and other gifts from the earth. These pieces may be performance-based, written down, or designed to fade away.
Through art, I examine the human condition via our interactions with one another and the environment. My work touches on themes of intuition, lineage, change, physical presence, and the profound way we are altered by the world around us.
While psychotherapy and art are distinct disciplines, they converge in my dedication to mindful attention: what shifts within us when we commit to truly witnessing something?
MY TRAINING
I earned a Master of Counselling from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts with specializations in Psychology, Criminology, and English Literature.
I am a PACFA Registered Clinical Counsellor and have successfully reached EMDR Level 1 and 2 certification.
My career spans family violence advocacy, community health, and mentoring emerging counselling professionals.
I provide support for adults, children, couples, friendships and family units.
If you are considering starting this process, you do not need to have all the answers or know exactly what is wrong before reaching out.
We can discover that together.
LOCATION
I currently consult at On Smith Psychology in Collingwood, Melbourne and virtually through Online sessions.

Entering therapy is a significant transition. It asks us to share parts of our story that are usually kept private. I hold that trust with deep respect.

My work with children and families has shown me that our stories are rarely ours alone. We inherit rituals of connection, ways of protecting ourselves and ideas about belonging. Some become strengths; others may eventually need to change.
Alongside psychotherapy, I maintain an art practice working with soil, water, botanicals, the body and other materials from the earth. Through performance, writing and ephemeral works, I explore intuition, lineage, impermanence and the ways we are altered by what we encounter.
Psychotherapy and art are distinct disciplines, but they meet in one question: what shifts within us when we commit to truly witnessing something?
